I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Iron Mill College, a BACP-accredited institution. I work with young adult to elderly clients experiencing a wide range of issues including bereavement, depression and anxiety, affects of past traumas, sexual and domestic abuse, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and phobias. As well as working face to face in Exeter and Ashburton, I offer online counselling.
A qualified Mindfulness teacher, having undertaken training through University of Exeter, I offer this as a way to ground the sessions and, where appropriate, guide clients to engage in an embodied relationship to their emotional world. Since 2022 I have volunteered as a counsellor, at a centre which offers low-cost session for clients, many of whom have experienced domestic or sexual abuse. Prior to working as a counsellor, I facilitated Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction courses for individuals, general public groups and school teachers.
I have a background in the arts and in the not-for-profit sector helping the development of a wide range of UK charities.
Singing, growing veg and my ukelele keep my feet on the ground and my heart open.
I look forward to meeting you.
“Would highly recommend Cat. Very welcoming and helpful. Her sessions have truly helped me, not just in the moment, but have helped me to deal with everyday life. I feel like I now have the tools to deal with anxiety-provoking situations and general stress a lot better.”
