Catherine Large, MBACP
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from a BACP-accredited college. I abide by BACP’s Ethical Framework and have monthly supervision. CPD trainings include Internal Family Systems, Complex Trauma, and Relationships. I work with adult clients on an individual basis, experiencing a wide range of issues including depression and anxiety, managing stress, dealing with life changes, current impact of past traumas, relationship difficulties and low self-esteem. I especially enjoy working with older clients.
A qualified Mindfulness teacher, having undertaken training through University of Exeter, I offer this as a way to ground the sessions and, where appropriate, guide clients to engage in an embodied relationship to their emotional world. Prior to working as a counsellor, I facilitated Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction courses for individuals, general public groups and school teachers.
I have a background in the arts and in the not-for-profit sector helping the development of a wide range of UK and international charities.
Singing, growing veg and meditation keep my feet on the ground and my heart open.
I look forward to meeting you.
“Thank you so much for holding the space when I was in the middle of a rollercoaster of emotions! It really helped me process.” BR
“I would highly recommend Cat. Very welcoming and helpful. Her sessions have truly helped me to deal with everyday life. I feel like I now have the tools to deal with anxiety-provoking situations and general stress a lot better.” LS
